Turnbull and Stockdale Archive

This was our second look at the Archive, using the information that Philip, our textile historian had given us we looked carefully through books and drawers. He had spent alot of time selecting ones relevant to the project.

There were hundreds of boxes that had been shipped back from Thailand, every one containing wonderful fabrics from many decades. It was amazing, inspiring and a real privilege to be able to see them.

Right at the end of the visit, we discovered some Abbotsford originals, this is what I was hoping I'd see. Even though I had been working on this design, I had never managed to see even a picture of the fabric as a shadow tissue. The design was full of colour, movement and energy.
